The intelligence layer
for your money.

lucent is not a budgeting app. It is a secure, programmable layer over your entire financial life — and a fleet of specialized agents that reason on top of it.

01Positioning

Budgeting apps report the past. lucent reasons about the future.

Envelopes and pie charts were the right abstraction when software could only categorize. Models can now reason over a full financial graph — so the product should too.

Categorizes what you already spent

Simulates what next quarter looks like before you commit

A dashboard you have to remember to open

Agents that run on a schedule and surface only what changed

One vendor's read of your accounts

A unified graph across banks, brokerages, equity, and debt

Your data, locked inside their app

Your data, callable by any agent you authorize

01

Connect

Link banks, cards, brokerages, and loans through Plaid. lucent resolves them into a single graph with a consistent shape.

02

Delegate

Put agents on the graph. Each one watches a narrow slice, runs on its own cadence, and only speaks up when it has something.

03

Extend

Mint a scoped token and point your own tools at the same MCP surface. The platform stops where your imagination does.

02The fleet

One chatbot cannot do this. A fleet can.

Each agent is narrow on purpose — its own tools, its own scopes, its own schedule. They run continuously against your graph and escalate only when something is worth your attention.

agent.spend_analyst

Spend Analyst

Separates signal from noise across every linked account — merchant drift, category anomalies, and the slow creep you never notice month to month.

fetch_transactionsdetect_recurring

agent.portfolio_auditor

Portfolio Auditor

Allocation drift, expense-ratio drag, and the overlap between three funds you believed were diversified.

fetch_holdingscompute_drift

agent.cashflow_forecaster

Cash Flow Forecaster

Projects ninety days of balances from pay cadence, bill timing, and obligations you have already committed to.

forecast_balancesfetch_liabilities

agent.subscription_warden

Subscription Warden

Catches price hikes, trials about to convert, and the services you stopped opening two quarters ago.

detect_recurringdiff_pricing

agent.tax_strategist

Tax Strategist

Harvesting candidates, deduction gaps, and quarterly estimates that have quietly drifted out of range.

fetch_holdingsestimate_tax

agent.networth_historian

Net Worth Historian

Reconstructs your balance sheet across time and explains what actually caused every inflection in it.

fetch_accountssnapshot_networth

Or write your own.

Every agent above is built on the same public surface you get. Nothing is privileged, nothing is hidden.

03Extend

Your data. Your agents.

lucent exposes your financial graph as an authenticated MCP server. Mint a scoped token, point any client at it, and your accounts become something you can actually program against.

Any MCP client

Claude, your editor, a cron job, a runtime you wrote this afternoon. If it speaks the Model Context Protocol, it can reason over your finances.

No privileged interface

Our own fleet authenticates through the same bearer tokens and the same scopes you get. There is no internal API we kept for ourselves.

Composable, not walled

Join your financial graph to anything else you already run — a spreadsheet, a trading journal, your company's books.

04Security

Extending your data should not mean surrendering it.

Every capability in this product is gated by a token you minted, scoped to tools you chose, and visible in a log you can read.

Read-only by default

Nothing moves money. Write scopes are opt-in, granted per tool, and expire on a clock you set.

Scoped per client

A token minted for your editor cannot read holdings unless you granted holdings:read to that specific client.

Revocable in one call

Kill a client's access instantly. Every tool call is attributed to the token that made it, forever.

Credentials never reach us

Bank authentication happens inside Plaid. We hold a revocable access token — never your username or password.

Encrypted, isolated

TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, and per-user key isolation so one tenant's keys open exactly one tenant's data.

Never training data

Your financial graph is not a corpus. It is never used to train models — ours or anyone else's.
